JOB DESCRIPTION:
Centek Marine, the world leader in marine exhaust and marine engine room ventilation, is seeking skilled and experienced fabricators, TIG welders, and machine operators to join our team. This role will be responsible for fabricating and/or TIG welding components for marine applications. The ideal candidate’s expertise will be essential in ensuring the proper construction and functionality of the boat’s exhaust systems. Attention to detail, precision welding skills, and a strong understanding of fabrication processes are crucial for success in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to fabricate components according to required dimensions and design specifications.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate TIG welding equipment, ensuring proper weld penetration, fusion, and strength.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate fabrication equipment, ensuring proper product specifications.
  • Ensure the quality of welded joints by performing inspections and tests, including visual inspections and non-destructive testing methods.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to identify improvements in design and fabrication processes.
  • Work closely with other team members, such as pipefitters, fabricators, and welders, to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with all equipment, materials, and tools.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Keep accurate records of fabrication activities, including materials used, welding parameters, and inspection results.Monitor
  • inventory levels of materials and supplies required for riser fabrication and communicate any shortages or replenishment needs to the appropriate personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational or technical training in welding or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a TIG welder or fabricator, specifically in stainless steel or similar materials.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and processes, including layout, cutting, fitting, and welding.
  • Demonstrated skill in TIG welding and/or fabrication ensuring precision and high-quality product.
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and reliable work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey information clearly.
  • Physical ability to perform welding tasks, including lifting and manipulating heavy materials.
  • Knowledge of marine applications and understanding of exhaust and ventilation systems is advantageous.

Industrial Sewing Machine Operator/Pattern Maker

This role will be responsible for making patterns and insulation blankets for marine exhaust pipes. The ideal candidate’s expertise will be essential in ensuring the proper construction and functionality of the patterns and blankets. Attention to detail, precision sewing skills, ability to read drawings, and a strong understanding of maintenance and repair on industrial sewing machines are crucial for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create patterns from drawings and/or sample parts.
  • Prepare materials by cutting, measuring, and arranging fabric pieces prior to sewing.
  • Operate sewing machine to sew, stitch and assemble insulation blankets.
  • Perform routine maintenance and necessary repairs on sewing machines.
  • Inspect finished products for defects to ensure quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with all equipment, materials, and tools.
  • Keep accurate records of production activities, materials used, and inspection results.

Yacht Quality Finish Paint Technician

This role will primarily focus on surface preparation, applying gelcoat using spray guns, sanding, and buffing to achieve a smooth, high-quality aesthetic finish. It requires exceptional attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work while adhering to strict quality standards and safety protocols within the marine industry.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare parts for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas as needed. 
  • Apply primers, basecoats, and clear coats using spray guns and other tools. 
  • Inspect completed paint jobs to ensure they meet quality standards, including color and finish. 
  • Repair paint imperfections such as runs, sags, or uneven coverage. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure jobs are completed on time.  
  • Maintain and clean painting tools, spray guns, and equipment to ensure optimal performance. 
  • Follow all safety and environmental regulations.

Shipping and Receiving Clerk

The ideal candidate will ensure that goods are shipped, received, and processed accurately and efficiently, while maintaining proper records and adhering to company policies. This role requires attention to detail, physical strength and stamina, and close coordination with production floor associates and CSR teams.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare items for shipment, including packing, labeling, and ensuring accurate documentation such as shipping labels, BOLs, and invoices. 
  • Ensure compliance with regulations of the carriers and the DOT. 
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality, verifying against purchase orders and packing slips. 
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to load and unload shipments safely. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to address shipping or receiving concerns. 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations for shipping and handling. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area.

Assembly Laminator

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Cutting and measuring fiberglass materials according to specifications. 
  • Mixing resins and catalysts in the correct proportions. 
  • Applying resin-soaked fiberglass or cloths onto mold surfaces. 
  • Using rollers and brushes to consolidate the fiberglass and resin, ensuring there are no voids or air bubbles. 
  • Maintaining equipment used in the laminating process.

RTM Technician

Centek Industries, the world leader in marine exhaust and marine engine room ventilation, is seeking a skilled RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) Technician to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the resin transfer molding processes, including mold preparation, resin injection, and quality inspection. This role is crucial in producing high-quality composite parts and requires strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining production standards. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Mold construction: Oversee the manufacturing process of the mold, including machining, polishing, and surface treatment to achieve desired finish quality. 
  • Mold assembly and setup: Install the mold components on the RTM press, ensuring proper alignment and sealing of the mold halves, and connecting vacuum and resin delivery systems.  
  • Fiber preform preparation: Inspect and position dry fiber preforms within the mold cavity to maintain desired fiber distribution and part integrity.  
  • RTM process operation: Monitor and control the resin injection process, adjusting pressure and flow rates to achieve optimal resin infusion throughout the preform.  
  • Quality control: Inspect finished parts for defects like voids, resin bleed, or fiber misalignment, and taking corrective actions when necessary. 
  • Collaboration: Engage with engineers and production supervisors to optimize processes and resolve issues.  
  • Mold maintenance and repair: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on the mold to prevent buildup and ensure consistent quality, identifying and repairing any damage or wear on mold surfaces.  

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in composite materials and manufacturing processes, particularly RTM 
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues 
  • Attention to detail and quality control practices  
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift materials throughout the shift. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. 
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
