JOB DESCRIPTION:
Centek Marine, the world leader in marine exhaust and marine engine room ventilation, is seeking skilled and experienced fabricators, TIG welders, and machine operators to join our team. This role will be responsible for fabricating and/or TIG welding components for marine applications. The ideal candidate’s expertise will be essential in ensuring the proper construction and functionality of the boat’s exhaust systems. Attention to detail, precision welding skills, and a strong understanding of fabrication processes are crucial for success in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to fabricate components according to required dimensions and design specifications.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate TIG welding equipment, ensuring proper weld penetration, fusion, and strength.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate fabrication equipment, ensuring proper product specifications.
  • Ensure the quality of welded joints by performing inspections and tests, including visual inspections and non-destructive testing methods.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to identify improvements in design and fabrication processes.
  • Work closely with other team members, such as pipefitters, fabricators, and welders, to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with all equipment, materials, and tools.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Keep accurate records of fabrication activities, including materials used, welding parameters, and inspection results.Monitor
  • inventory levels of materials and supplies required for riser fabrication and communicate any shortages or replenishment needs to the appropriate personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational or technical training in welding or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a TIG welder or fabricator, specifically in stainless steel or similar materials.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and processes, including layout, cutting, fitting, and welding.
  • Demonstrated skill in TIG welding and/or fabrication ensuring precision and high-quality product.
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and reliable work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey information clearly.
  • Physical ability to perform welding tasks, including lifting and manipulating heavy materials.
  • Knowledge of marine applications and understanding of exhaust and ventilation systems is advantageous.

Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician – Thomasville Area – Full Time

Position Overview: Centek Marine, the world leader in marine exhaust and marine engine room ventilation, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse maintenance, electrical and fabrication. This role is crucial in keeping our facilities safe and fully functioning. This position requires strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, strong maintenance experience, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain buildings.
  • Maintain, Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing, utility and facility equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance as directed.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks as assigned. Must be able to execute position requirements with little or no supervision. Perform other and incidental duties as assigned.
  • Assesses failures in machinery or plant equipment and makes appropriate repairs.
  • Performs Stick and MIG welding and cutting with oxy-acetylene.
  • Performs layout, fabrication and construction of plant components such as machine guards, handrails, and similar items.
  • Performs pipefitting and related work in installing, repairing, or re-routing water, sewage, air, and gas pipes.
  • Performs electrical repairs and installations – must have knowledge and experience in 220 and 3-phase electrical.
  • Documents repair finding and gives feedback on job plans to supervisor.
  • Interacts with Maintenance Management System (Epicor) for parts checkout, Bill Of Material information, job closure, equipment documentation, and general equipment info.
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations. Inspects safety of shop area, tools and plant areas where jobs are ongoing.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 2-4 years of related industrial maintenance experience.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and act on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures, and similar documents.
  • Maintain competence in the use of precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, feeler gauges, laser alignment tools and similar standard use instruments.
  • Must have Industrial electricity knowledge and the ability to perform electrical repairs.
  • Willingness to learn
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift materials throughout the shift.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Have a reliable means of transportation
  • Pay attention to detail
  • Must successfully pass a physical exam and drug test
  • Ability to work saws/construction background not required but a plus
