Centek Marine is expanding its engineering team to support the design, analysis, and delivery of custom solutions for marine applications. Centek’s engineering team seeks engineers with a strong foundation in engineering who enjoy understanding real-world applications, developing practical solutions, and seeing those solutions through to manufacturing and implementation. Day-to-day, engineers blend technical design and engineering analysis with customer communication, quoting, and project coordination.
Strong technical expertise, excellent communication and project/time management skills, and a commitment to quality and compliance are essential to succeed in this role. Roles within the Engineering Department offer significant growth potential, with advancement and expanded responsibilities directly tied to individual performance and demonstrated results.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to schedule and quality standards and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate customer requirements into technical specifications and actionable project plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize Centek’s pre-established engineering processes, workflows, and methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in engineering design and development.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex engineering issues, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to both customers and internal senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Engineering experience, preferably within the marine, mechanical, automotive, or aerospace industry.
- Proven track record leading complex technical projects from requirements through handoff to manufacturing or implementation.
- Strong understanding of fluid/thermal concepts related to exhaust and ventilation (backpressure, head loss, temperature, airflow, etc.) or demonstrated ability to learn quickly with Centek’s training and Technical Process Overview resources.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and comfort working with detailed models and drawings as part of the design and quoting process.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Epicor (or similar ERP) and CRM.
- Excellent communication skills—able to translate complex technical information into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple inquiries and projects simultaneously in a structured, process-driven environment.
- Proven ability to effectively manage resource allocation, workload balancing, and project prioritization to meet business objectives.

Travel & Work Environment
- Role is based at Centek Marine’s Thomasville, GA facilities
- Occasional domestic and international travel to customer sites, shipyards, and key meetings may be required for complex projects and strategic accounts

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Centek Marine, the world leader in marine exhaust and marine engine room ventilation, is seeking skilled and experienced fabricators, TIG welders, and machine operators to join our team. This role will be responsible for fabricating and/or TIG welding components for marine applications. The ideal candidate’s expertise will be essential in ensuring the proper construction and functionality of the boat’s exhaust systems. Attention to detail, precision welding skills, and a strong understanding of fabrication processes are crucial for success in this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to fabricate components according to required dimensions and design specifications.
- Set up, adjust, and operate TIG welding equipment, ensuring proper weld penetration, fusion, and strength.
- Set up, adjust, and operate fabrication equipment, ensuring proper product specifications.
- Ensure the quality of welded joints by performing inspections and tests, including visual inspections and non-destructive testing methods.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify improvements in design and fabrication processes.
- Work closely with other team members, such as pipefitters, fabricators, and welders, to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with all equipment, materials, and tools.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Keep accurate records of fabrication activities, including materials used, welding parameters, and inspection results.Monitor
- inventory levels of materials and supplies required for riser fabrication and communicate any shortages or replenishment needs to the appropriate personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational or technical training in welding or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a TIG welder or fabricator, specifically in stainless steel or similar materials.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and processes, including layout, cutting, fitting, and welding.
- Demonstrated skill in TIG welding and/or fabrication ensuring precision and high-quality product.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and reliable work.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey information clearly.
- Physical ability to perform welding tasks, including lifting and manipulating heavy materials.
- Knowledge of marine applications and understanding of exhaust and ventilation systems is advantageous.
